The agreement governing your use of the Kreel browser extension.
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you (“you”, “the user”) and Safe and Informed S.R.L., a company incorporated in Romania, with registered office at Aleea Slt. Adrian Cârstea, Nr. 13, Bl. 37, Sc. 2, Et. 8, Ap. 141, Sector 3, Bucharest, Romania, Trade Register No. J2026050848009, sole registration code (CUI) 55462821 (“Safe & Informed”, “we”, “us”, “our”), governing your use of the Kreel browser extension and any updates to it (the “Extension”).
By installing or using the Extension, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Extension.
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in jurisdictions where that is the applicable minimum digital-consent age) to use the Extension. By using it, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Subject to these Terms, Safe & Informed grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to install and use one copy of the Extension on browsers you own or control, for your personal or internal business purposes. The Extension is provided free of charge.
The Extension is proprietary software. It is licensed, not sold. Safe and Informed S.R.L. and its licensors retain all right, title, and interest in and to the Extension, including all intellectual property rights. No rights are granted to you except as expressly set out in these Terms.
Except to the extent expressly permitted by these Terms or by mandatory applicable law, you may not:
The Extension helps you discover and collect RSS/Atom feed addresses from third-party websites and platforms — including, for certain platforms such as YouTube, Reddit, and GitHub, by constructing likely feed URLs and validating them.
If you are the operator of a website, or are authorised to act on its behalf, and you do not want Kreel to detect or collect feeds from your website, you may request its exclusion by emailing support@safeandinformed.com from an address associated with the domain, or otherwise reasonably evidencing your authority.
Upon a valid request, Safe and Informed S.R.L. will add the domain (and its subdomains) to Kreel's built-in exclusion list. Because the Extension operates locally and has no server, an exclusion is distributed to users through a subsequent update of the Extension; it therefore takes effect for a given user once that user receives the update. On excluded domains, Kreel does not inject its detector, does not add their feeds, and does not send requests to their feed URLs. We will act on valid requests within a reasonable time and reserve the right to request additional verification of authority before doing so.
Your use of the Extension is also governed by the Kreel Privacy Policy, which describes how the Extension handles information. In short, the Extension collects and transmits no personal data.
The Extension may be updated automatically through the browser extension store from which you installed it. Updated versions are subject to these Terms unless the update is accompanied by separate terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Extension is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will detect every available feed or that every detected feed is valid.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory provisions of Romanian or European Union law that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Safe and Informed S.R.L. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Extension, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Because the Extension is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Extension shall not exceed EUR 50 (fifty euro), or the minimum amount permitted by applicable law if higher.
This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or to any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer-protection law.
These Terms apply for as long as you use the Extension. You may terminate them at any time by uninstalling the Extension. We may suspend or terminate the licence if you materially breach these Terms. Sections 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11, and 12 survive termination.
We may modify these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change and the current version will be available at its published URL. Your continued use of the Extension after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms; if you do not agree, you must stop using the Extension.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of Bucharest, Romania shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Extension, without prejudice to any mandatory rights you may have as a consumer to bring proceedings in, or to rely on the mandatory law of, your country of residence.
